πΏ Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025) – β β β β β

Entertaining threequel but didnβt have the magic of glass onion in my opinion. that was a better mystery.
Spaceman Spiff to the rescue

πΏ DiΓ©s IraΓ© (2025) – β β β β β

A rare Indian horror movie that earns its keep. It doesnβt try to do too much, but what it does it does very well. Malayalam movies are on a different level! And how gorgeous was that house half the movie is set in? Just gorgeous modern architecture.
πΏ Homebound (2025) – β β β β β

A poignant movie about two halves – of caste and privilege which had similarities with Dhadak 2 – and other half of how the govt failed to come in need of the very people that needed it most during the pandemic. The final act is very moving.
πΏ One Battle After Another (2025) – β β β β β

I had some Amazon credits to kill so we rented this movie. Terrific pacing for a nearly 3 hour movie and entertaining but itβs mostly hollow shit. There is no way I would have spent 60+ $ to see this movie in a theater. Even at 10 bucks rental was fairly high. This is a great made for TV movie – I can totally see why it bombed.
πΏ Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra (2025) – β β β ββ

First half was great but second half falls off. Could have been so much better than end result. Still, beautiful cinematography and I canβt believe they made the movie in <40 crores. It absolutely doesnβt look like it!
πΏ Frankenstein (2025) – β β β ββ

A solid 3.5 star but not more. The tension between Victor and Frankenstein never elevates and gets over sooner than it starts.
πΏ Weapons (2025) – β β β ββ

Starts off great but just loses steam completely by end. It wasnβt even scary except for the few initial jolts. Waste of 10$ rental – could have waited until it dropped to 4$.
πΏ Dhadak 2 (2025) – β β β β β

Calling a sequel to original dhadak was such a crime. This is a very gritty coming of age story of a dalit man and a privileged woman. Much parallels to todayβs times as well. And yes this dark side of India does exist. Highly recommended even though dark and grim.
πΏ Don’t Look Up (2021) – β β β β β

I remember starting this movie when it came out and not getting past 15-20 minutes coz it was so absurd. 4 years down the line the political and societal decline has been so bad that this totally absurd comedy feels very realistic now! Like if a comet were to actually show up, the United States government and its people would exactly behave the way they showed in this movie, to the T. So yeah a hilarious watch!
