I really want to use Safari more and more but I cannot determine why every page loads so slow in Safari vs Chrome which is zippy fast on my personal mac.

Done with Kaikeyi and I thought it was a great read, and almost sets up the next book I am going to read “Uttarakaanda” almost too well. I admit I never thought of women characters in Ramayana were very interesting to begin with (and frankly nor are men much), so Kaikeyi was good fresh take on a much hated character.
*Just to add really quickly* — is biggest lie in a meeting. Anyone who starts a line with this in a meeting has nothing add really quickly and whatever they say ends up taking over the entire meeting. Guaranteed!
Turns out today is a special elections day in our county to replace a retiring democrat in district. Now it all makes fucking sense why the governor and AG are after TJ high school and creating so much drama because the lead nominee from their party is a conservative parent who has been at forefront of all the drama.
Well, I probably would have ignored and missed this election completely (I mean Jesus Virginia has too many all the time!) but you know what I am going to go out of way to vote against that that conservative bitch.
As I was reading *Kaikeyi* I couldn’t shrug off the feeling that it feels very similar in tone to a book I read much earlier in life. This morning, I finally remembered it to be a book that made me fall in love with S. L. Bhyrappa’s work. [Vamsha Vriksha](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1560328.Vamshavriksha) is his seminal work (much before Parva) that told a multi-generational story about family, love and changing role of women in society. The book won the Sahitya Akademi award, the film adaptation won its fair share of awards, and its translation into other languages *also* won Sahitya Akademi awards. The english version of this was translated by my [related grandfather](https://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=285127458) who also translated Parva. And yes, highly highly recommend Vamsha Vriksha as essential reading!
This weekend (specifically yesterday!) I finished up more than half of *Kaikeyi*. Its been a great read so far, but can’t help thinking its like reading a novel by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and not Vaishnavi Patel.
That Air India drunk VP of Wells Fargo incident is both funny and absolutely representative of the Indian male who doesnt know when to stop drinking. *Free mein milega tho mein phenyl bhi piyega* taken to heart I suppose?
As I am getting older I am beginning to feel the nicks & niggles of aging. That back has not healed yet. An injury to one of my fingers 20+ years ago now seems to be bothering me (go figure!). Just one night out with friends and I spend next three nights recuperating and catching up on sleep. I cannot tolerate many different foods anymore, or types of alcohol. No shoes are perfect anymore, and neither are any pillows. The comforter is either too hot or too cold – as can be said about my office as well. The bed is not firm enough, nor is the bed supportive enough. I need glasses to drive or see the TV. Its like post 40s, aging has accelerated several multiples. Uggh, its this how old age is supposed to be? Is that why old people are always grumpy?
I just saw recipe on Instagram that involved boiling Maggi noddles in milk with a big dollop of chocolate mixed in and I need to puke right now.
all those proclaiming Hakeem Jeffries as next President relax he will run into Kirsten Gillibrand if he tries.
