The evening crowds are insane and our hotel guy is like oh just wait till morning you won’t even able to walk. 🤮

Amalfi gives you the feeling of “wow so beautiful!” and “ugh I can’t wait to leave!” at the same time. And it’s been only 30 mins since we’ve been here.
@curdriceaurora Our train to monopoli got to around 270-280
The pit stop at Pompeii blew our expectations. Our tour guide did such a phenomenal job of explaining everything while keeping it fast under the hot sun. A beautiful breeze definitely helped! Pompeii was gorgeous!

What a change around of phase of life. In college my nickname was literally … “pizza”!
Naples pizza has been consumed, the birthplace of pizza. And I hated it here as well. I am not a pizza guy 🤷♂️
Heading back again to southwest part of Italy from southeast for third leg of the trip. Since the train connectivity is not that good between these places we took a private driver who is gonna stop over for pizza lunch at Naples, followed by tour of Pompeii, before heading down to the coast that’s about as touristy as it can get.
There is no difference between train and driving in Italy because both go at same speed. At various times I have had to check the speed at which the driver is driving and am like hmm that’s about as fast as the regional express!
The assassin pasta has been tasted and it is terrible. So was the pizza at the said place. After 3 days of excellent meals, this was the worst food I have eaten this entire trip, which is saying a lot considering much of the food here has been underwhelming. I am also now completely pakau-ed of Italian food, but the lack of diversity in food is even more surprising. Like at this point I will be happy in a McDs. https://social.lol/@sde/117083313578231219
A fun day spent at a beach today. Also exhausted by the amount of water time we had. Looking forward to the “assassin” pasta at night, a Bari specialty! Also called lovingly – Spaghetti all' assassina.
