Another all day beach day do nothing but sip beer and splash around day! I like this alternating schedule we have made of a sightseeing day followed by do nothings!

We did a day trip to locorotundo, alberobello and Matera today. Of the three, Matera was simply SPECTACULAR beyond reason. The oldest inhabited city on earth (going back nearly 10000 years) came alive at sunset when the whole old mountain town wakes up. Plus had the best meal of the trip hands down so far there. We just sat there admiring the view (of which this is just one part) for an hour.

The nonnes of Bari. On a small street a bunch of women make fresh pasta daily. You may be invited if lucky to share a meal also, but otherwise they stay until all the fresh pasta is sold out. The last woman on this photo also made fresh pasta for the Ambanis wedding in Jamnagar and couldn’t stop talking about it with us after we told them we are originally from India – they shared pictures and video of the event, gave us some pasta to take away and just generally welcomed us with so much warmth.

Spent half day at this wonderful beach in monopoli. Didn’t research much – just ran into it after breakfast and we stayed there till a very late lunch. Perfect relax max day!

Day 2 lunch at a cheap cafeteria and I cannot tell you how big of a difference is the same pasta and pizza is here than Rome. Just flavor bomb!

Holy mother of Christ first night dinner in Puglia was SPECTACULAR! Like every single fucking thing. Finger licking holy crap good. Now I know why my friends said Rome food sucks. OOOFF!
