A relative of ours is getting a completely souped up Alienware laptop via my inlaws. The thing is a beast of a configuration and cost 2k – Intel Ultra 9, 64gb ram, Nvidia 570 with has its own massive RAM, 2TB, 240Hz 16″ screen – you name it its the top of the end. He is in first semester of engineering and wants it to both play games and as he said, “host local ML models so I don’t have to worry about internet access”. At first I was like wow, look at that, even college freshmen are now like I want to host ML models and all. Then I was like, this is how WE were too when we were freshmen. We wanted to buy PCs that were powerful enough to play games…. and be able to compile Java/C++ code without taking an inordinate amount of time. Be able to host a local ML model is literally “I want to install Java/C++ and compile code” of our times.

Several people I worked closely with in my company are trying hard to build their LinkedIn brand as a product expert on how to build at scale. The thing is they were not very good at all. Here’s the thing – the people who are trying hard to build their brand on LinkedIn are not the people you actually want to hire. The actual builders just… do their work and build.
At physical therapy for the kid who sustained an injury at swimming. Initial evaluation cost – 600$. Per visit cost – 350$. She is on her mom’s high deductible insurance plan. I can’t fathom this kind of insane cost. How do people afford this? It will be cheaper for me to take her to my gym and get her stretching done there. Healthcare is just unsustainable in this country.

Nothing about Pluribus looks exciting to me. Nothing in trailer says this cost 15million per episode to make, and suggests what it is about this one that Apple committed to two seasons already. I hope Vince Gilligan has something up his sleeve here.
On surface Winsome had everything going for her. A Jamaican immigrant, small business owner, 2FA lover and a complete loony bin with extreme views which is basically baseline republican these days. Except she was not a white man. I am fairly certain that had Winsome been a white man with exact same views, Spanberger would’ve not won by the margin she did. I think it’s good proof that black women have no chance of being a president in this country. They simply won’t vote for her just by virtue of being black.
