Everything about this World Cup looks so fake. Knowing how ridiculous the country is, everything on tv looks so fake.

I honestly dont judge anyone who wants to remain on Twitter, especially international folks. They cannot relate to the same things as we do in this country so its not far to judge a Brit or an Indian to care too much about whether Trump/Kanye are banned or re-instated on platform. I still have my twitter account and I probably will keep it in short term until I can figure out a good way to get updates on a few things I care about, but that is a time consuming affair and given the place I am in life I dont feel like spending that much effort on it just yet. The account can stay, but if I am not engaging in it, not sure what good it does anyway.

The advantage of working with a predominantly west and central time teams is i don’t have any meetings at a minimum till 11, which means I can sneak in a WC game each day.

Interesting insights from friends who work at Meta. Meta layed off quite a few people who were on day 2 or 3 of their jobs, literally. Their first day was on monday and they were laid off on wednesday. Instead of rescinding the offers entirely, Meta chose to hire them and then lay them off to guarantee them the 16 week severence instead of rescinding the offer at last minute and leaving them high & dry. While it still sucks, it still was a pretty gracious move to guarantee 16 weeks of salary. Honestly, Zuck sucks but the way they went about their layoffs has been way more gracious and empathetic than others out there.
