If it’s sunny it’s hard to beat dc in spring. If it’s sunny is the keyword. Like today. We spent the entire afternoon lounging on deck playing cards and listening to music, while all our neighbors and their families were out on deck too. Just blissful weather and sunshine.

Gotta love some travel sites that want to charge a “seat request fee” to book a seat with the airline, which ranges from 15-20$ per seat. Catch – you also have to pay the seat selection fee for airline also. What a fucking scam.
Called our irrigation guy to “summerize” our sprinkler system (which really was nothing but turning on the main irrigation line and waiting for pipes to fill up with water, so next time), and he found found broken pipes under ground all across our property due to which we were having either low pressure in few areas or no water coming out of a couple of heads. Well 3 hours later, glad to report our sprinkler system is shining like new again! Rachio app is alive again, and I am going to just trust the app to do its job on scheduling water runs as required.
As a father of a preteen daughter I am finding USA increasingly becoming unsafe for her. To imagine her body choices are being determined by an old white fuck sitting in Texas cushy court is so depressing.
I find it really sad that for a country with thousands of years of history in music and arts, the richest person in India couldn’t think beyond useless Bollywood & Hollywood divas. If the pricks really cared so much about “arts, music & culture”, there literally are hundreds if not more talented people in India who would’ve loved the platform that Nita could’ve provided. But as usual, junk people usually come up with junk ideas. What a complete fucking waste this family is.
Taxes done and dusted. What federal gave state took away. Feeling very happy at the no loss no gain situation. We did something right I suppose.
Dungeon & Dragons was surprisingly fun movie! Went to theater last evening to watch Mario but reviews on D&D were far better so we took a chance and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Looking for an app like trakt or tvtime but for restaurants. Any thoughts [@pratik](https://micro.blog/pratik) if you are using any? Don’t want to use Google or opentable.

As a product guy I often insist that we don’t over bake a product. I am not one of those product management folks who keeps adding features for the sake of adding features to a product. At work this causes disagreements with others often, but I honestly believe after a certain point a product should be left alone to prosper. As product grows in scale and reach, there is an sense of inevitability that sets in: you want to keep adding features or settings because even if 1% of your customer base wants it, its still hundreds of thousands or millions of people. When you use scale to justify priorities, it can really make your products suffer long term. Products get bloated with features & settings that majority of people never use. The small subset of people who do use the features & settings become very vocal when their favorite feature is retired (because remember, scale works other way too to prioritize deprecation!), and eventually the product becomes so bloated and riddled with idiocy it goes into state of stasis. It .. just exists.
My favorite examples of this? Gmail. Netflix. Google Maps. IOS settings. Most photo management softwares.
My favorite product that has not descended into a mess so far, or at least managed to delay it: Outlook.
