While all electric may very well be future of homes I find it to be a complete fucking fad right now. Our house is all electric right now and everything just seems so slow and annoying. Electric furnaces? Fine – but takes hours to warm up the house. The result is that our house constantly feels colder and heat pump is trying to catch up. Electric cooktop? Fucking thing takes forever to heat up anything – and once the coils heat up, they take forever to cool down also. What a fucking nuisance. Luckily our gas line should be installed next month – out goes the electric cooktop and in comes the gas range. And a few more years later, I am replacing the stupid electric heat with gas furnance.

I am going to my twitter feed to check how the tweet deletion is in progress – and everytime I do i see a completely new set of tweets from years ago. I have a come a long way as a person I feel like reading those tweets from years ago!
Today I finally took the step to delete *all* my tweets, forever. Of course I downloaded an archive first. I joined Twitter in april of 2008, and since then I maintained a continuous presence in one form or another till last month. I was never a prolific tweeter and accumulated barely 60000ish tweets over the course of 14 years on twitter, but it was never my intention to use Twitter that way. I barely followed 10-12 real people (& they followed me back, thank you!), and majority of my follows were actually deal sites, news, local police, schools or news sites. I am actually glad to met some of the folks I follow in real life, and some multiple times! While I saw many quit and rejoin and quit and rejoin, because of my extremely small blast radius, my experience was mostly net positive.
However i just couldn’t get myself to be part of Elon’s drama anymroe. I just dont want to feed him *my* data. I still maintain (and will maintain) the twitter account due to utility factor of it for now, but I am not unhappy about deleting all my tweets from the platform. A shitty platform no longer deserves my engagement, and it shall not get one.
Take any tech company and read their year end lookback or review – “Its been an UNPRECEDENTED year”. I swear I have read that same fucking line for the last 20 years. Every has been unprecedented. Get on with it.
After a certain age all home improvement projects become a chore . 10 years back I would be excited about a remodel or new things within house or outside – now I find them to a complete fucking chore and not worth my time at all. We still need to do them, but that excitement isn’t there anymore for me.
