One of the biggest myths of product management is you are the decision maker. You are not. You can be the single threaded owner, but more often than not your job is to drive decision making more than making decisions. Sure you will make *some* of the decisions, and you should, but your primary job is to be a good shepherd.

Over the last couple of months we’ve been doing one renovation project after another to bring this house to where we want it to be and we are finally seeing the finish line for our first set of things we wanted done, and its honestly been quite relieving to me mentally. In the last couple of months we’ve completely redone our backyard, redid our guest bathroom and currently in process of moving our powder room to an entirely different part of house. The plumber took 2 days to design the entire rerouting of pipes, but once the walls of powder room came down it was already so worth it with the amount of free flowing space it has created between living room and kitchen. In a couple of weeks we wil l have some net new windows carved out of walls and put in so that should improve our light situation 1000x. While our major kitchen reno is pending, thats the one we are not in hurry. It will happen earlier rather than later, but we are going to enjoy the break for a while and soak in the home improvements!

I opened the garage door and then the inside door and turned back to finish conversation with anu. 2 minutes later discover the dog has scampered away while door is open. But phuski that he is, he didn’t even venture behind our house. Patiently stood at edge of footpath waiting for one of us to come after in. I just got his bag of cookies and in no time he was in 😂.

Over the last 2 decades a common theme in Indian aviation industry is some upstart airline makes a huge splash at a aviation show about ordering hundreds of airbus or boeing planes. Then, within next 3-5 years that said airline files for bankruptcy, has severe financial losses or is mired in mismanagement. SpiceJet, Kingfisher are two top ones that come to mind immediately. What makes anyone believe Air India will not have the same fate? I sincerely hope Tata turns this around, but for now this seems like just another splash of big news that will fizzle out very quickly in next 2-3 years.
