Our days can be super busy in meetings and activities but it is such a joy when you take that 20 mins out and play with the doggo in the backyard. The smile and genuine warmth he shows towards you makes it all worth it and the best part of the day! Plus, who doesnt cannot benefit a quick break between phone screens and meetings? Added bonus – he is wiped out so he pretty much sleeps till evening! Win win win for everyone.

What real estate bust? Houses are flying off the shelves all around us here. Interest rates have had no impact it feels like.

So all these companies who are forcing RTO in name of productivity gains are also ok employees *not* taking work back home, yes? Coz you know it works both ways. I will RTO but don’t expect me to bring back worn home coz I can be very productive in person.

This March I will have been a member of my local gym for almost 4 years. I have seen the place go from having an all male coaching staff to become a majority women coaching staff over the years as the other coaches left. While men or women, the coaching itself has been top class it’s been interesting to experience how male coaches train Vs female coaches. Of course this is just a sample size of 4, but still maybe telling. The male coaches are much more comfortable pushing you out of your comfort zone. You can always lift 5 more pounds, you can always get 1-3 more reps, you can always do more than you think. The female coaches prefer to work with how you are “feeling” more than pushing you. You get a great workout but you never feel like you were in the grind.

Over time I have begun to miss those male coaches. While I like the women coaches, I need that push and shove to get things done in gym else I will take the lazy path 9 out of 10 times. I realize this is a *me* problem and not them but gym is a place I want to be pushed hard within limits. And given it’s a boutique gym everyone knows everyone well, the coaches are fully aware of my lazy personality towards exercise. I think the gym needs to bring that healthy balance back and have a few more errr…. alpha trainers.

I feel like I shop on amazon way lesser than I used to last year. During the pandemic amazon was a savior – we pretty much preferred ordering everything and anything on amazon. But once the pandemic was withered down, our spending habits have changed, and it’s not because of a conscious effort to shop local, it’s just that over last two years the amazon shopping experience itself has become so horrible it’s not worth it. The site is littered with junk Chinese products, reviews don’t have any meaning anymore and the promise of a 2 day delivery doesn’t hold the same excitement that it once used to – I mean if I have to buy substandard Chinese junk I might as well go to Walmart and get instant gratification instead of waiting on 2 days. Amazon really needs to do something about their shopping experience in general. Add to it that prime video is lackluster, then fucking up prime music, very high minimums in grocery and suddenly even the prime membership is not looking as attractive as it once used to be. The retail side of amazon needs a new life.
