After months of waiting yesterday Washington gas finally came over and pulled the gas line from street to the house – and in the process pretty much ruined our front yard coz they had to dig deep to find and move bring the pipe in, and also broke multiple sprinkler pipes along the way coz they were not marked by utility company marker and there is no way utility markers know about sprinkler pipes coz that’s not what they deal with. They reseeded the grass but the front yard is such a mess I am going to have spend hundreds of $$$ to fix the yard and fix the sprinkler system. So much for Washington gas pulling the line for free 😂

Speaking of my distrust in desi doctors in USA, it stems from a PCP that I visited in my twenties. Newly graduated, with a job and health benefits and I was like why not make use of annual physical? It was only a couple years into this country so naturally I was like desi doctor better because they understand Indian mentalities. Found a doc close by where I lived and booked an appointment.
The doc proceeds to do a physical, and then while listening with stethoscope, quips that my heart is beating in a weird way, and its sometimes a symptom of a tilted heart (no kidding!). I was then asked to visit very specific places for x-ray, mri and some other scans with all no prizes for guessing more desi docs. I was freaked out for a month until I got through all of the tests and it just came across as one desi mafia operation. In the end the result? Oh, nothing was ever wrong with my heart. I’ve been to a couple of desi docs after that but my experience 90% of the time has been that they come across as some kind of money making mafia operation.

I suddenly developed [trigger finger](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigger_finger) on my ring finger sometime last month. That finger never really healed fully from a bike accident I was involved in from engineering days, but other than that I can never fully close that finger for a close grip, it has never bothered me. Until January, when that finger started locking up. While it didnt hurt or the lock itself was not bad, given that i lift weights I didnt want to leave anything to chance. I went to a desi orthopedic surgeon who recommended i do a couple of physical therapy sessions, which greatly helped. On the last day of physical therapy, the doc’s assistant aggressively tried to make me meet the doc again even though our appointment was 2 weeks out. I relented and was like why not just get over with it? The doc then proceeds to tell me even though I feel better, I am not, I and I should schedule a surgery on the finger asap. Something about desi doctors in USA always gives me uncomfortable vibes (after multiple experiences), so I said i would think about it while he looked for a slot.
For the next two weeks his assistant wouldn’t stop hounding me on calls about surgery. Why it was so important I do it, why my fingers would get so much worse and how the surgery was a 15-20 min out patient surgery and life would be great. The more she kept calling, more I resisted. And in those two weeks, my finger has gotten so much better that I am almost back to same place that I was before January. Heck if the finger is not bothering me just yet, I am not signing up for a fucking surgery! I really dont know why the doc wouldn’t just ask me to do more physical therapy – I am sure he realized that I was responding really well to it so I could’ve just continued it. Now not only did he lose me as a patient, but his physical therapy place also lost a customer coz I ain’t stepping back into that facility again!

We bought our house in June last year when the interest rates had already starting spiking up, and now when I look at rates today I am like whoa we got lucky didn’t we.

I still don’t get it – the best place for these stores is actually the airport! And there are none there. It’s so obvious airports are the place you want these stores. Watching The Prestige with the kid. This along with Insomina are two of Nolan’s most underrated movies aren’t they?

Got done with a major Reno project of moving out powder room to a different location. Gonna take a few months break before jumping to the next and hopefully the last one to do in the house: kitchen
