As I watch this Indian team on the field with a lot of older folks in team, its a weird feeling to know that I am now going to see another generation of cricketers retire in the next couple of years. We grew up with likes of Tendular/Ganguly/Dravid so their retirement years ago felt like a reflection of time gone by, and it suddenly felt like you had grown old too when they retired. Now that yet another generation of cricketers are on verge of retirement, it feels like yet another “omg we are old” moment.

The regular specialist doctor I see freaked out over a number on my blood report, immediately put me on a supplement and asked me to see another specialist for that area. After a month I finally meet this other “specialist” who quickly goes on to say all my numbers look normal, and I shouldn’t even be taking the supplement to begin with! I am like what about the number that freaked out my regular doc, and he’s like well yeah this is what I do and this number by itself is not worrying. Now I am caught between two really good doctors who have a differing opinion on my bloodwork. How can this be so hard? If the specialists themselves can’t agree, what am I, a regular guy going to believe? Who do I trust at this point?
India’s performance against Australia in the last two tests and then ODI is clear proof that unless they completely doctor the pitch to their preference (aka rank turners from day 1), they are unable to match them even on reasonable pitches. This team is clearly overrated with deadweights galore – we are going to be trashed at the test world championship final aren’t we?
