Oh we also saw cute little useless turnips called ICE loitering around DCA airports. it’s embarrassing – everyone including themselves know they are just walking around doing nothing in particular while getting paid while the TSA guys around them are all working without pay for doing a thankless job.
Just less than a decade ago our trips would start out with us coming in morning, keeping our bags at the hotel coz our booking wouldn’t start till 3pm and then just head out for sightseeing. Now? We book the prior night as well even if we check in next day coz we need a few hours to recharge after night long flights. The first half of day is just chilling to recoup from air travel before we start our sight seeing. Age brings its benefits and wisdom – something we would have considered an unnecessary thing, is now a must have – I.e booking the hotel room for prior night so we have room to check into next morning!
Didn’t sleep well but I finally connected with my friend and phew it felt good to talk.
On the other hand a lot of satellite locations have not opened for voting yet in norther Virginia. Once they open next week will there be a change? Who knows. We ourselves are also voting next week after more satellite locations open.
The VA redistricting efforts will fail IMO, more because democrats don’t want it themselves rather than republicans doing a great job of canvassing. If by miracle it passes it mostly will because people have their eyes open but just way democrats are going about it is convincing me that they don’t want it either.
The trailer for new Harry Potter hbo series doesn’t look too bad but a bold decision to switch race for severeus snape. my guess is they switched the race to a black man because they simply couldn’t find another white man at the level of Alan Rickman and by making the character black they can focus the conversation on his race.
What a day – the worst the outcome that could happened ended up happening. The folks I came to work for, the individuals why I actually made the move were all let go. I have no details on what happened, or why it happened – just that it happened today. I was afraid this was going to be outcome when these folks didn’t show up for last 2 weeks but still unreal. Having worked with one for few years in my old company I know him more as a friend than colleague and irrespective of outcome here continues to be my friend. Needless to say I am feeling extremely deflated today – and of course now added stress to what all these changes to me and my work. Ugh. Fuck this shit!

I used to be a vegetarian for a long time before I finally tasted meat in college and since then have been an omnivore. But off late I have started preferring vegetarian again – I have pretty much stopped eating red meat and I end up picking fish over chicken more often than not. But if there is an exciting vegetarian option I will give up fish also. Like I feel veggies are just so much more fresher and lighter on tummy. I might just end up becoming vegetarian all over again!
