@pratik they all refused hilariously. AdTech is a small world, often all centered around Bay Area or NY and Googlers would rather work at Meta. The company would be a step down for pretty much anyone. Not to mention most of these folks are all friends of each other. My colleague was like I myself asked one of them who had a much higher offer than I did to not join the mess and they didn't lol. The whole episode has left a bad taste in everyone's mouth there – I still keep hearing from so many there about the anger they are feeling. (also feels nice to know that)

Damn, this is the first time some desis knocked on our doors to invite us to attend religious talks in a school every Sunday. Free of course and teachings on hinduism and Bhagwad Gita. I was half expecting an Amway placement. I was like yeah I will drop my dad off – have a field day with him!

Was catching up with colleague from my last company yesterday and he was telling me about how my ex-boss is struggling to hire people to take over the job I had, and in fact tried to recruit him also. He denied and has swore never to work with him as long as he is there. I kinda enjoyed hearing about my ex-manager's misery. Fuck him and fuck his life. I have nothing good to feel or say about him and I wish him the worst luck lol. Or as they say in Hindi, Gand Mara BC.

Its been exactly a month today since job loss. Its been a mixed bag since then – while I have enjoyed the up-skilling time I've had, company reachouts have been far and few in between, and none of them really went anywhere. Not that the companies I talked to were the ones I wanted to work at, but its a sign of market. Without solid connections and networking, it is going to be hard to break through in this economy. Of course I also do have my contacts and network which I am tapping into but nothing interesting yet. Year end heading into November and December is definitely not helping. On the other hand, some of my strongest network connections check on me weekly and I know that if they can make things happen, they will. So for now, its wait and watch, and a whole lotta AI projects!

@pratik It absolutely can. If the ai researchers don’t even understand 1% of how LLMs actually work it’s a big risk. Everyone’s just hoping nothing will happen.

The difference between claude code and codex is extremely apparent when building something. Claude tends to put safety above all and will catch all unspecified security issues in planning stage while Codex really wants to just jump into the task. Claude takes its time with the structure of the project and does a far better job at in organizing the specs and project files. Codex on other hand is just autonomous and fires off on its own and comes back only if it has questions. Both are good, but I prefer the methodical approach of Claude over "I am just gonna build whatever" by Codex, even though Codex actually does build it correctly while Claude somehow seems to struggle more.
