The last 10 days have been absolutely splendid October weather in dc. Bright sunshine, no sign of rain, warm days and chilly nights and it looks like its gonna continue till next week. What a stretch. We deserved it after the miserable stretch of weather!

On a drive, pass by a funeral home and my dad goes – what is it? I was like a funeral home where they cremate or bury. To which he goes "cremate? accha! you do that also here." I was like what do you mean, and he goes "oh America is a christian nation so I thought they don't allow cremation". I was like… "so, majority of India is Hindus, have they banned burials there?". To which he goes "Well in Kuwait they don't allow all this…" to which I kinda lost it on him coz it triggered a memory of my friend's kid few years back. I yelled at him that unlike Kuwait, America was a democratic country and its constitution guarantees rights to practice or not practice whatever you want. Whatsapp has truly fucking melted brains of people. Its bewildering a man like him with so many friends in USA even had ideas like that.

@pratik It’s trained on apple foundation models and another one. I am gonna publish on GitHub soon with download so if you wanna try it out you can too. Photos never leave the Mac and do not get uploaded to Claude.

@pratik Very interesting! I am glad you did all the tests and figured it out. I am pretty sure your fam also appreciates it too! (And honest take I always felt like I have adhd but I fail all online tests for it lol. Now I getting the feeling R has it, but she's failed the online tests too.). I am curious which site did you do the online tests that are reputable and good?

After a week of training a sample of 3000 photos , losing my way multiple times, changing direction etc I am so so happy that first golden question I posed to my model came back with such a well thought out answer. Now to next batch of training additional 10k photos, testing against other questions and seeing where this goes next. Finally feel like we are going in the right direction!

@pratik @santoshhari This is fairly common in a lot of mid size companies. And even in big companies more often than not the publicly posted ones are filled by internal transfers – which makes sense – why take a chance on a new person if someone internally is willing.
