After two weeks of eating Italian food with no diversity in taste I have never appreciated America enough for its diversity in food. My god I am looking forward to Lebanese tonight. If there is one aspect of Italy I did not enjoy at all it was the fucking lack of diversity in food outside of Rome.
masto
@pratik Indeed. We want to go with her but she is all about the beach and cities, while I and A are more about hikes and nature. Have to just book it while she is still not an adult and get done hehe
@pratik We will do Alaska after kid heads off to college. We are debating Hawaii at some pt but leaving choices to R for next few years. Italy was her bucket list as well.
@pratik Oh any day Europe is cheaper than a lot of destinations in the USA. Especially if you live on east coast there is hardly a reason for us to travel so long west when we can do similar things on east (Alaska is an exception)
This year we certainly have spent more on travel than other years. We didnβt plan it this way on purpose but itβs a good reminder not to get too ahead of ourselves when planning vacations too far in advance. I suppose we were also thrown off a bit by how expensive Peru was all in all. On a per person per day basis Peru was still more expensive than Italy for worser accommodations.
Done with hisab-kitab for the Italy trip. Compared to Spain last year we spent nearly 20% more but a lot of can be attributed to more expensive lodging, more expensive restaurants, activities and shopping. Going in a group definitely saved money on many fronts but also was negated in other aspects (for example transport was almost always more exp for 6 people).
My dad scolded his brothers on our WhatsApp group asking them to verify videos before sending fake news. Then proceeded to forward one himself to another WhatsApp group π€·ββοΈ – at least it was not the same video he scolded his brothers over π
I miss Italy already

@pratik They look lovely!
Where is my hot European summer sunshine π
