The race started at 8:23.Both responses were on the money.

Its so interesting that a basic 3b (1.9G) local llm model works as good as claude pro Opus on tasks that do not need complex reasoning or coding. For example, at the swim meet I gave this prompt: "ok, i am at a swim meet. my kid is in 50back. The heats go from fastest to slowest. There are 49 heats, each heat with 9 swimmers. My kid is in heat 27. Its 8 am right now. The fastest swimmer in heat 1 (fastest) is 24.5 seconds. Assuming another 15-30 seconds for switchovers, what time should I head inside to catch my kid’s race? Assume that the timing distribution between swimmers is random but very close enough to match real junior swimmers. For reference my kid’s previous time is 36.58 seconds." –

Claude responded: Head inside by about 8:15. Your kid's heat (27) should start somewhere between 8:20 and 8:27, assuming the event starts at 8:00.

My local Qwen2.5:3b model responded: With the time being 8:07 AM, you should plan to head inside around 8:14 AM to 8:21 AM to catch your child's race.

I did not know open claw was so much fun to use. To be fair its not like I had a personal Mac until few days ago.

@nixzhu beautiful app. Is it possible however to have the default post experience be whatever you chose? I don’t want to keep choosing the post visibility for every single post. Maybe a setting or something for future?

Today we sat down and did our finances again to account for the job loss and its potential impact. I was already doing this analysis over the last few weeks anticipating something like this would happen so it wasn’t like we were starting from scratch. But thanks to our desi mentality that our parents inculcated in us, rainy day funds are exactly for this purpose. I admit in spite of it I have been a nervous wreck for the last 3 days but it was good to recheck everything and be assured we got this for a while. But that has also come with age and time at job – people who are on visa or just a few years in are probably facing the worst of it right now so I gotta be thankful for what I have!

September and October are supposed to be the two best months in dc with mostly clear skies, and crisp weather with no humidity. This year it’s terrible – maybe the El Niño effect already showing up.

Hate meta as much as you want but muse is kinda groundbreaking in terms of what it can do for you in practical day-to-day life. I am sure others companies will follow but with first movers advantage and a product that just simply works expansively and goes beyond AI summaries to actually doing stuff is just next level. Meta has a winner on their hands, absolutely.

The overlapping staircases of the Vatican where up and down never intersect. I thought it was very cool.
