I keep reading protests are working. I don’t know, doesnt feel like anyone in Supreme Court heard them because they sure as shit are not blocking anything cheeto man wants to do. I am disappointed for my neighbors who proudly put a “We support federal workers” sign on their lawns and thought their job was done.

I find the new AI coding tools liberating. As a CS graduate I was never quite good at programming even though I know programming. I would be terrible at it, and if I were an software engineer I probably would have been the bottom 10%. I love what I do as a product guy. But now with AI code tools, i can actually build web apps and tools without having to invest my limited programming brain. I know just enough that I can read the code and I can change it to my needs, but I also dont need to know more because I am not writing anything production ready. This is a big deal for me because I feel empowered to create with code that i never felt before!

I created a doc with a user journey for a product idea I am pitching. I asked an AI internal tool to create a mockup of the entire experience so I can show it to folks. The fucking tool created a mockup that looks as good as what it would be if it launched. Holy cow, we are in for an AI ride.

Tenet is such a good soundtrack. Ludwig Goransson’s music is so brutalist and tense, and while the movie or the music did not catch on me initially, I’ve really come to like the music of the movie a lot! I think Tenet’s music was better than Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer was a better movie, though I’d watch Tenet any time just for the mind-fuckery and the set pieces! Fuck understanding what actually happens.

I generally dont say no to providing advice to new grads if they add me on LinkedIn randomly. Usually its about whether I am hiring, or a request to review the resume and help if I can suggest some improvements. Last week this one grad added me on LinkedIn; I was expecting similar ask – pls review etc. This grad immediately emails me “I want x role in your company, can we talk one-on-one next week; tell me availability and lets talk about how you can help me!”. I honestly was a bit taken aback. There was no hello, no introduction, no please or courtesy of my time. Just a 3 line almost cold cut email. I didn’t bother replying and unlinked this person immediately. Perhaps, this grad needs to take a few lessons in communication and humility before just cold calling people like this. Ugh.

My heart goes out to the millions of innocent democrats who will bear the brunt of this bill. The Republicans who wanted this, thank you for the tax break I no doubt will get and I hope you rot in hell when you can’t afford your medications and you die alone in your house rotting waiting for someone to find out after maggots have eaten half of you. You voted for it – you should feel it.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but I am ok if history is not kind to Biden in spite of his tremendous achievements in office. I am ok if he is always remembered as the man who did not take the threats of fascism seriously and not doing enough to tackle it when he had a chance, and then let his selfishness and ego come in his way by not stepping aside earlier so some other person could’ve carried on his good work. Yep, I am comfortable if history remembers him rather harshly.

The good part about having my wordpress blog as the source right now for all short posts is that I could use scripts to delete all my previous skeets or mastodon posts but keep a copy on wordpress blog for now. I dont need 3 copies of all posts everywhere! I just need to remember to do cleanups every once in a while now is all.
