  • Instead of writing long winded posts about Barkha, why don’t these desi bloggers simply jam her facebook group page and give her a kick? #
  • @patrix U really think I care about page views, eh? 😀 in reply to patrix #
  • Har har! desi blogdom is up in arms against NDTV, even if Chetan may or may not want. Nice way to get some page hits while at it LOL. #
  • How can India ask Pakistan to make their probe report public, when we ourselves haven’t done so? #

30

I turn 30, this 30th.

All through the day I made plans of writing a big thoughtful post about the last decade of my life; I thought about ruminating about the last decade, most of which I’ve spent in United States and how it has changed me as a person. How I was when I was 20 versus how am I now. The different changes in my life where I went from being a boy to a man. And then I gave up on the idea. Somehow I felt I could never finish that post if I went on that train; there’s so much that happened in the last decade.

Well then I thought, why not recollect the past year. But again, as I thought more about it, except for my marriage, I can’t think of any other highlight in my life. Yeah we traveled a bit, explored the area and did our thing, but there’s nothing that sticks on. Had it not been for the love and support of my other half, I would have driven myself crazy in this place; I left a perfectly wonderful life back in DC to move here for a varied number of personal reasons, most of which, as time passes by seem pointless. Hence I decided, there would be no post on that either; there simply not enough to write about.

Maybe I could do a post on my future I thought. There is so much think of for future – my life, family, settling down, career, my health etc. All those things I’d care two hoots about 5 years ago now seemed something I would need to address in that post. Somehow, I was not ready. Yet. The feeling of 30 hasn’t sunk in yet.

So I decided, this 30, I will let it just be.

30 it is. I am officially uncool.

  • Eh. Barkha Dutt is facing the wrath of bloggers. Good. I hope she give up her pathetic journalism crap forever and becomes a sanyasi! #
  • Though I would liked it if I could get the option to selectively download only certain messages with a label instead of the entire inbox. #
  • Trying out gmail offline. i for one want a local copy for sure, given google’s ability to lock my gmail account when I need it most! #

  • @patrix Actually you might to hang on to your card to keep your FICO score in good standing; closing older cards/not using it affects score. in reply to patrix #

  • What an emotional moment must be for those women who gathered ashok chakras for their husband / sons. Truly touching moment. #
  • Watching R-Day live on NDTV. Pratibha Patil looks like she wants to head home and sleep, while NDTV and Mark Tully are blabbering nonsense. #
  • Watched Raaz 2. B-grade doable horror flick, totally dependent on sound effects to give you the shrills rather than horror itself. #
  • If I store 60Gb worth of RAW image files on Smugmug Vault, how much would it cost me per month? Smugmug? #
  • Seriously, how is ICC still tolerating Symonds! #

  • OK, Mann Chandare is really getting into my system; this is just heartfelt music written all over it. #
  • Mann Chandare from A R Rahman’s Connections is mesmerizing. Now that’s the kind of Rahman I like :). #
  • Big B says: “I write a blog. But the opinions expressed in my blog were not my own.” As absurd as it gets. #
  • I think i am desperate to get back to DC now. San Jose is not just doing it for both of us…and we both need our social life. #
