Just for kicks I want to tell the nanny, cook, and cleaner to not show up for 2 days and watch my brother and sister-in-law completely lose their shit and become clueless on how to run a house. I am pretty sure they will lose 5 kilos running behind their own kids to start out.

Heading to aunt’s house for a sumptuous lunch awaiting me!

Anyway I held back day 1 coz trip and all but fucking lay out the platter from today. My stomach and I are both ready for the onslaught!

“ID” idly dosa batter has completely decimated the home made batter. I don’t know anyone anymore who does not just use ID idly dosa batter anymore here. And yeah no prizes for guessing the I and D in ID brand stand for idly dosa.

Yesterday my nieces went for a birthday party. The parents don’t know each other but the nannies of the kids do. So the entire thing was planned through nannies meeting up in evening in park with their individual kids they look after. Invitations exchanges, gifts thought off and all. Not a single parent at the party – just kids and their nannies! This is sad and hilarious at the same time. I mean if I can get out of a toddle birthday party I absolutely would 😆

The amount of urgent and frantic background music that accompanies every Indian news channel is hilarious. It’s like without the music Indians won’t really get the gravity of the news – more panicky and faster the music is bigger the crisis is. For example women in UP are fighting over clothes drying rack and now it’s national news! This is 100x better than CNN crap! I am here for this!

Look folks I don’t know about you but if I have to make a choice between a death camp or dealing with Bangalore traffic I think I know which one I am picking. Good luck to all of you Indian American patriots!

I slept almost 7 hours last night and I get a feeling this might be the first time ever I might be able to deal with jet lag in India. Usually it takes me a few days – of course they say jet lag is worse day 2-4 so we will see but I feel positive!

My god the modern conveniences of Blinkit / Zepto apps. Everything delivered in 10 mins or less. No planning by anyone – it’s like you think of it and it’s home, so no qn of making a “list”. People keep delivering things through the day! Like how do they even get this to work is beyond amazing – scale efficiencies at work!

Feels like I had such a full day already and it’s just day 1. I don’t think India will ever leave my heart – the feeling of warmth and comfort I find here in my heart is not a feeling I feel anywhere else.
