Its been a couple of weeks now since I’ve moved to self hosted “micro” blog, and honestly I don’t miss micro.blog, at all. I thought I would miss the conversations there but a lot of people I followed have moved away too, and the ones that haven’t cross post it to masto/bluesky anyway. I guess this should be a success for indieweb and not a negative.

Stupid fucking snow tomorrow again, and we have a double whammy coming. This just means good majority of neighbors will never clean their sidewalks, and the snow will take weeks to melt, while also posing ice hazards on a daily basis, making our doggy walks frightful. We won’t even be able to use our backyard for a long time again until the snow melts. Ugh, not looking forward to this at all. This has been a miserable winter!

Turns out I was not the only one feeling they couldn’t understand a single word of what Lamar was singing. Apparently the sound mixing was completely off or gone wrong. That makes more sense to me!

I admit the only part of singing that I actually comprehended was sung by SZA 😂. I mean I like Lamar but the genre is just so hard to follow without close captions.

Yesterday we drove through Shenandoah region to drop the kid at ski resort. I used to call that region Trumplandia because of the very outward show of support there, but I think the right word is Nazi colony. From now on it’s no longer trump country for me, but Nazi county.

This years Kumbh mela is apparently a Maha Kumbh mela which happens every 144 years only it seems. So obviously everyone I know in India wants to go there including both set of parents. I don’t know if I would want to go there for the mela itself but I think the opportunity for some incredible photos would have lured me in!

At this point Kohli has gone from being the hero to villain. Like dude just retire already. You are done!

I am sorry I don’t understand white families. The kid is out this weekend at a ski resort for one of her best friend’s birthday. Between compulsory ski lessons, chair lift charges and equipment rental we have spent more than 600$ on the kid as did other parents who sent their kids! I appreciate that the host girls family did cover for all the lodging and food, but make it make sense, please! The desi in me can’t comprehend this. I don’t spend this much amount on gifts for my own kid on her birthday!! Heck we are cognizant of costs even for a birthday party and would never think of even asking her friend’s families to put up money to celebrate my kids birthday and here we are. Look it’s not that I cannot afford it – I very well can, but something just feels stupid about all this. We couldn’t even say no because she would be the odd one out who said no and she is one of her besties. Truly weird this has been. Is this normal?
