For as long as anyone remembers Netflix has been a AWS customer, to the point they are one of those all-in-on-AWS customer. The relationship between these two companies is literally blood relations type, but it is indeed a moment of recckoning to hear Netflix going to partner with Microsoft on their ad sales/business. Like, there is nothing AWS would not have done to make it happen for Netflix and yet Microsoft find a way. Kudos to Satya for finding that opening – pretty sure Azure is on horizon 🙂

What regrets do you have about your 20s and 30s with regards to health and fitness?

My big one is I didn’t do a half marathon, much less a full marathon. Was in California then, no kids, great weather and I actually ran everyday. I dreamt about how I would do the Big Sur marathon at least once and never managed to cross a 4 mile run. Looking back feels like lost an opp.

Meanwhile a colleague of mine went from chain smoking to running marathons to Ironmans and ultramans all around the same time 😆

I keep refreshing my Opendoor offer every week just to gauge how market factors are impacting their offer prices, not that I would ever sell to them. I know they always end up offering less than house is worth, and we know folks who sold to them at lower price than market would have given them. Its incredible that in the last 4 weeks, their offer on my house dropped 100k, and almost 250k from late Jan when they peaked. Just sign of times and market/economy! We are headed for hard times.

Nothing like a little fire in belly eh? Our realtor who runs a mafia operation wanted the house spruced up for sale. We were like fine, whatever, as long as you use it to get us the best price in return. Anyhow for the last three weeks work has been going in our house for something or other, and it came to a complete standstill in the last week, because, you know how thats how contractors are – start work, but leave it unfinished while they are doing 5 other jobs simultaneously. So yesterday I called up the realtor and told her we have decided to rent our place and no longer selling – and today morning the entire mafia operation and their extended family are here. Suddenly work that was supposed to take 2 more weeks is only 3 days away from completion and my realtor is now super motivated that she can get us the best price even in this market. I am like, well, work your magic — and if you cant, thanks for your mafia operation for upgrading our house for cheap but we’ll just rent it lol. This is going to be a fun week full of possibilities!
