As I am getting older I am realizing I *should have* taken more interest in woodworking and general home improvement as a hobby a decade back. Now I want to get into it but I also feel I am too old, too fat, too lazy and too unmotivated to venture into something completely new.

Done with Ted Lasso last night, and even though it lands the finale reasonably well, it was all still so underwhelming at best. Its a pity that this once great show had to bow out like this (if it did). Apple has a 3rd season problem innit? Somehow their shows don’t seem to all jump the shark around this mark, and its ok if Apple realized this and decided they will just do smaller season shows. S3 of Ted Lasso was needlessly so overlong and unnecessary it spoilt all the magic this series once had.
Both *Servant* and *For All Mankind* have faced the same issue at Apple; after an excellent sophomore season both crashed and burned in third season. Anyway, I am glad Lasso and his jadoo ki jhappi days are over.
I hope *Succession* ushers in a new age of TV shows where they end by 3rd or 4th season. Too many prestige drams were ruined because the network & creators decided an extra season or two was really need to *tell* the story. Yes I am looking at you *Breaking Bad*, *Mad Men* and *Better Call Saul* each of which went on for season or two too long. *Breaking Bad* should’ve ended at S4, and *Mad Men* at S5 at best. *Better Call Saul* is an exhausting watch in S6, so much so I still have 5 episodes to go, and I hardly care anymore. I hope American TV finally learns from British TV on having concise shows and telling as much story as needed instead of just going on and on because they attained prestige status.
That video of trash around mount Everest is so fucking despicable. Like climbers spend tens of thousands of dollars to train and eventually summit the mountain and they can’t even be bothered to take their trash with them? Absolutely pathetic and no matter how big your achievement is you suck as a human.
*Succession* proved to HBO that they can still make a prestige TV without grotesque nudity and soft porn, if they want to. Maybe perhaps they need less Sam Levinson and more Jesse Armstrong.
Man can Dhoni just unnretire and come back to captain Indian team in ODI and test cricket?
Dear mother of two holy cows why the fuck are you putting ketchup on your funnel cake?! 🤯
Succession couldn’t have ended any other way but this. That was perfect.
This morning my dad & I argued about how old I was when we stayed in Pune. He kept insisting I was in 5th or 6th grade at best and I was like, no, I was in 7th and 8th grade when we were in Pune. He kept insisting I was wrong, and I am like I would definitely remember what my age was in 7th and 8th grade! How did this topic come up? He got a call from a daughter of a friend of his who used to stay in the same building that we did in Pune, and this said daughter knew *me* (but I had zero recollection of her). She stays local to the area and my dad couldn’t stop about how *excited* I would be to meet her & connect and how we used to play as kids together (no, we didnt, not at all, and she was way younger than me so she probably wouldn’t remember anyway!). My dad’s habit of bending the truth to suit himself is something that has always infuriated me, and its one of the reasons I just refuse to meet absolutely any of his friends & their families (save one, who unfortunately passed away few years back). Time & again I’ve seen him bend the truth to suit *him* even at the expense of making us look stupid so I decided long back I wasn’t getting into this nonsense at all. Now about this lady who has invited us with dad? Well there’s Uber and its not far away & I will magically develop halka sa fever on the said day and get out of it.
We finished Rocket Boys last night, and the season 2 was as good as first, albeit slightly slower paced. I love the brevity of entire series that they were done in 2 season run. Ishwak Singh as Vikram Sarabhai and Jim Sarbh as Homi Bhabha were terrific as were pretty much all the supporting cast including Arjun Radhakrishnan who played Abdul Kalam. Sure, creative liberties were taken with the series but it was also very nice to see creators acknowledging those liberties for story telling purposes, especially around Bhabha. The background score & [intro theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRxXvxxy7NY) are fantastic too! This was perhaps one of the best TV shows we’ve seen this year! I wish India makes more of these.
