Now the market is flooded by equally good Chinese manufacturers with lots of bells & whistles and fancy apps, all sharing your private data across the pond. But hey, at least Amazon did not get that data amirite?

Yesterday out of nowhere my ex roommate from engineering days called up from Australia. The last time we met and talked was in 2016. But what is it about these friendships that it felt like we started from where we left off and talked for an hour. And now who knows how long will it be before we talk again – not that we don’t have WhatsApp – it’s just that we have really stayed in touch. It felt good to reminisce our engineering days and all the lovely time spent together. There is something about these friendships that are just special – they don’t require effort or time to maintain – they just are. We promised we’d both be better in keeping in touch but who are we kidding? But I also know when we do visit Australia again, I will be housed again at this place in Sydney!

Season 3 was hard hitting as usual but Huma Qureshi butchers it mostly because she is surrounded by so much superior talent. Season 1 and 2 have set the bar.
🍿 Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025) – ★★★★☆
Entertaining threequel but didn’t have the magic of glass onion in my opinion. that was a better mystery.
🍿 Diés Iraé (2025) – ★★★★☆
A rare Indian horror movie that earns its keep. It doesn’t try to do too much, but what it does it does very well. Malayalam movies are on a different level! And how gorgeous was that house half the movie is set in? Just gorgeous modern architecture.
I don’t get the Europeans complaining about being priced out of World Cup tickets. The tickets are least of it. Flying to and from USA in peak summer, coupled with hoteling or Airbnb costs especially in summer and transport considerations coz we are not blessed like Europe means that even if World Cup was priced at 100$, you would still have to be fairly affluent and willing to spend a lot of money to come to this World Cup. And it’s the same for rest of world too. It’s rather unfortunate but that is just the reality (and one of many reasons I hope they never host a World Cup again in this part of the world!).
I am 100% supportive of fans who wrecked the Kolkata stadium after paying so much for the Messi GOAT tour and not even getting a chance to see him. Like you are in football Mecca of India and didn’t know how to plan it well? The crowd reaction was justified. I wish Americans learnt something from rest of the world instead of treating protests as arts and crafts class!
