First swim meet today where R now needs to swim in 13 and over group. Will be interesting experience to switch over to the “adult” group now since swimmers can go all the way to 18 now in this group. Will be a big change for her as well to be first one in her bestie group to be 13 and over group so she is going to miss them. Luckily in a few months all of them will be together again!

Funny in parts but found it mostly boring

Yesterday my therapist asked me “*When was the last time in recent years you were truly happy? Like truly happy that you wanted to be stuck in that moment!”. The first memory that came back to me immediately when asked that question was **not** the memory I thought it should be. I struggled for a while to think of a good time when I was truly happy and wanted to be stuck in that moment. Eventually I went back to the very first thing that came to my mind when she asked the qn – It was the trip that we did as family to Universal Studios in Orlando. R was big into Harry Potter then, and a large part of trip was largely unplanned except knowing we had many days in park. We visited the same parts of Universal Studios (namely Harry Potter world) multiple times in day and evenings and the kid truly relished it all soaking it all in. We enjoyed it too, and I was particularly very happy that my kid had joined me in every roller coaster (that was her first experience with “adult” roller coasters) and generally was over the moon. I dont know why I struggled so much to say it when it was right in my face but I really wanted it to be something else when the answer was it did not have to be some other memory.

I hope hunter biden is jailed and he is out of public eye all together. What a mess of a human. He honestly belonged to Trump family more than Biden. He would fit right in with the trumps!

I went for a shoe fitting appointment today at running store. The technology has come so far ahead now! Several years back the experts would make you walk, run and generally do a few things to really understand and do gait analysis. Now? You just stand on a board that automatically scans your feet & arches. Then you walk on a sensor board few times to do additional weight analysis. All of it directly uploaded into an awesome 3d rendering view of your shoe size, arches, pressure and weight points, sent over email to you. Tech has come so far! It was an awesome experience.

Every time I feel like I have become perpetually unhappy grumpy grandpa I go and see Gaurav Sabnis’s twitter feed and immediately feel so good about myself that I am no where close to being an insufferable grouch that I thought I was becoming.
