There is a new trend in hotel design in the last decade or so which is absolutely infuriating: barn doors for bathrooms and blurred glass for bathroom walls. No. Just fucking no. Who the fuck wants to smell their partner’s shit coz the barn door doesn’t close or secure properly? Why the F does anyone feel the need of watching another person shower through blurred glass? What kind of perverted romanticism is that? This bizarre trend has to stop sometime and I see no signs of it!

Denver airport is so spread out it feels like the plane doesn’t taxi, it actually lands in one city and gets to gate in another city – the whole taxing takes that fucking long.

Back to Denver again in less than a month but this time thankfully weather is nicer, and also warmer than dc! I will take that.

Received an absolute shocker of news that one of the leads in our team is quitting. Unfortunately this person was also such a key critical hire that replacing this person is going to be one of the most important things our program director can make. So critical that this hire can make or break the program we are all in. I am sure the program director is having a sleepless night tonight.

At what point do democrats stop asking for cross-tabs and start paying attention to polls seriously? Why do democrats find it hard to believe that 60% of this country is bat-shit crazy, illiterate and brainless? The 40% are the MAGA republicans, but the rest 20% are these so called “independents”, “moderates” or “undecideds” who at this point in 2024 are equally horrendous people.

I may have eaten way too many cookies that the kid baked tonight. They turned out so spectacular that I think I might have had 8 or 10 (who’s counting!).

Got a cortisone shot on my right hand for the trigger finger. Apparently it takes two weeks to see any noticeable difference. I am hoping it really works after that coz i do not want to go down the surgery route. And if its a success and it improves my symptoms I will go back and do it for my left hand too!

These days I feel like I am living in the *The Namesake* life. My cousin whose wedding I missed sent us their wedding/reception video. I put it on TV for all of us to see and the kid couldn’t stop making snarky comments about the functions & rituals she was seeing on screen. At some pt I blew up and told her angrily that she is an Indian no matter what she thinks she is, and we as parents would appreciate it more if she tried to engage & understand those functions rather be a snark about it. To which of course my kid got upset and reacted angrily back that she was an American and nothing of this relates to her, and how it was all so stupid, and that she’d never be remotely Indian. Which of course made us even more angry and well it kept escalating to the point where she was asked to hit the sack for the night. Later at night we apologized to each other for our behavior and by morning all was forgotten. I couldn’t help thinking how *right* she was and yet also how *right* I fee I am. I am not ready to see my kid as something else, while my kid already feels she belongs somewhere else. Ugh.

One thing Apple has done well with Vision Pro pricing is people like me have no FOMO. Its so expensive that I don’t have any notion or thoughts of buying it anytime before it drops in price very very dramatically (I am talking sub 500-700 range). So yeah take all the time you want Apple and let the early adopters and rich people test it out for you before it becomes mainstream.

Well the “subscription” that we are paying for the heating/cooling/plumbing service is already coming in handy. Called the tech up and he’s gonna be here in next 60 minutes. Something tells me these guys are going to keep coming for a while.
