First cold and cough that kid caught before spring break that turned into walking pneumonia for her in April. Then the parents caught the flu but she was spared. Then just as we were recovering from all the phlegm and congestion, the kid catches another viral crap and falls sick. Naturally as she has recovered both me and wife are sick again with fever, miserable cold and annoying cough. I was just getting done with antibiotics for the congestion caused by flu last week and now this! The last 6 weeks have been miserable in the family.

Unsurprising statement from Biden regarding the protests in colleges going on. Keeping doing the stupid and watch young voters stay away this election. Then don’t come back with pikachu face.

This week has been rather long. The kid fell sick again – a teenager falling sick twice in a month is not nearly as painful as a toddler falling sick every few weeks, but it still brings back bad memories! The kid was still excited like a toddler to miss school 2 days in a row. When asked if she wanted to miss it today too, she suddenly realized she will fall back quite a lot if she kept missing school. Not to mention she is fine today!

One of the most common gripes I keep hearing from my team is how they are not *empowered* to do what they want to do. And yet when I task them with a responsibility and assign ownership, most folks spend half their time trying to shrug off the said ownership and responsibility. Then the same folks sit on side and become armchair critics complaining about how nothing is going well and things would be different if only they were consulted. Except, they *were*. But when they were tasked with that ownership, they want nothing to do with it anymore.

There are two professions that I hope my kid never pursues:

Journalism: the shittiest brainless job in America is that of journalists and main stream media. Absolute cesspool of pathetic people up and down the chain.

K12 teachers: the most disrespected and under appreciated job there is. My heart goes out to all the k12 teachers who are criminally underpaid everywhere and then have to tolerate nasty children and horrible horrible parents.

What has Wayfair done differently that their shipping has become insanely fast? We ordered some furniture late last night and its already being delivered tomorrow morning. That literally 24-36 hours for furniture. WTF.

Its refreshing to see Bernie break the political norms and call out Israel for what it is right now with Netanyahu. Well done. The US culture has made it so awkward now that calling out Israel by anyone is automatically deemed antisemitic and everyone has to walk on eggshells when trying to speak about Israel. More politicians like him need to come out and speak more vociferously.

I sincerely hope that democrats are not getting over confident that because the opposition is so fucking pathetic, most protest voters are who are also realists/centrists will come back to the fold.

This is just so wholesomely welcome: [Biden considers accepting Palestinian refugees](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/politics/2024/05/01/joe-biden-considers-accepting-palestinian-refugees/)
>Joe Biden is considering plans to allow some Palestinians fleeing the war in Gaza to enter the United States as refugees.

>White House officials have in recent weeks been talking about options to resettle displaced Gazans with family members who are US citizens or permanent residents, according to government documents seen by CBS News.

But also, Biden, grow a fucking pair and get Netanyahu on the line. Its unfucking believable that a president of a country of size of rhode island at best is literally bullying his way around what is supposed to be the super power of the world. Fuck Israel.

Student protests have never been for the wrong cause in this country. Biden better wake up and take notice, though don’t get the feeling they are taking young people as seriously as they should.
