Apple suspends Vision Pro 2 it seems. If only they had a compelling vision for the product at a price point that made some sense….

Remember the time when Elon Musk fired 80% of Twitter and everyone thought Twitter was going to go down any minute? Remember all the nonsense stories about how it was on a brink of complete collapse (technically) and the service would go down in matter of weeks? Surprise (or not to many including me), nothing like that remotely happened. Instead, the twitter as a service has remained pretty stable throughout, and they’ve actually added features than remove. Now yes it has become a cesspool of right wing shit hole, but its beside the point. Technically the platform has stayed pretty solid and is still catering to scale.

Its a clear example of whats ailing all tech companies these days. All major tech companies over-hired post pandemic only to realize that they don’t need that many people at all. If the likes of amazon, google, msft, or other tech companies were to lay off more than 50% of their work-force, there would be absolutely ZERO impact to any of the products and services owned by these companies. Thats the hard fucking truth that nobody wants to accept, but its true.

Erin Gemmel qualifies along with her hero Ledecky for Olympics and now I won’t stop hearing about her from the kid coz she will now want to make another club poster for her too.

Wow the naval academy campus in Annapolis is gorgeous inside!

There is a sequence in Inside/Out 2 that I wont say when/where it happens, but for me its one of the truest depiction of that emotion, and unless you’ve experienced it yourself you can’t really appreciate how right they got it. I am definitely seeing this one again!

Absolutely terrific sequel – and it feels like it was almost necessary! So much feels ooof!

Even after giving information that I need a specific repair to my ceiling fan (replacing the 3 speed switch which broke) electricians not only wanted to charge me an average of 75$ call fee but after they evaluate it (what’s there to evaluate I told you what’s broken!), they would add it to bill. Two of them said I need to replace the whole fan now coz the part is broken. I watched a few YouTube videos, got a 5$ part from Lowe’s, shut the main breaker and took 30 minutes to replace the part myself! We are back in business.

Labor cost is just getting out of hand in this area. Funny thing is I was actually read to pay 50-75 bucks to save myself research and dealing with anything electrical – but turns out the buggers want even more money from people just coz they can. I guess I learnt a new skill coz I didn’t fall for it.

TIL Steffi Graf is the only athlete to have ever won the golden slam (well the term was invented after her win!) – she won all 4 majors and gold medal at the Seoul Olympics. Shockingly nobody else male or female has ever done that! Always been one of my favorite athletes of all time.
