Called a few providers in area. Of course they want an arm and leg. Finally called progressive even though I don’t have roadside assistance baked in – still came out half the price other providers were quoting. Blah! Everything is a scam. I am sure even the auto body will milk this incident.

Drove the merc to cava. Now the car won’t start. The starter has failed. Need a tow back to repair shop. Serves me right to come to cava.
WTF is this new trend of burger joints serving burger “bowls” – i.e burger in a bowl without the buns. WHAT IS THE FUCKING POINT? Just call it a salad bowl in that case! Ugh.
What a century by Nitish Reddy. Rohit/Pant/Kohli should be embarrassed by themselves at this point.
As my “alone” time is coming to an end in a few days I’ve been thinking about these past few weeks and my hobbies; I sure as hell miss my family, but also the last few weeks have been a mental and physical reset in many ways. I have explored hobbies, did random stuff in my free time, ate well and got things done around the house that had been pending for months if not years. All this while I kept thinking its not that I did not have the time to do this while my family is around, and if anything I technically should have *more* time, not *less* considering me and wife split up most daily chores. Fortunately, unlike our friends with multiple kids, we do not lead ultra busy lifestyles where our life moves from calendar event to another, so we *can* make the time if we wanted.
But as I thought more I realized the single biggest thing that has led to more productivity and sense of content is **sleep**. Last few weeks I’ve gotten an absurdly good amount of sleep. I’ve slept at normal times and woke up much later than I usually do. There is no pressure or background process running about school work next morning. I’ve had time to take extended afternoon naps because, why not? But what I’ve realized is my brain is fresh and ready to do things. Its almost like even after a day of work, walk with dog, playtime with him, cooking, laundry every few day etc, my brain has been asking for more. Hence the turn to new hobbies and learning new stuff. Every single thing I’ve done in the house or new things I’ve tried in last few weeks can simply be attributed to getting a very good night’s sleep and being well rested.
So my resolution for 2025 is to find ways to be less stressed and get more sleep whenever I can. I like this well rested well slept me that is able to do more things creatively – and if I have to give up a few things or sleep earlier, so be it, but I must put effort into getting more high quality restful sleep. This means some minor changes to my lifestyle that luckily will not require drastic lifestyle changes.
Started watching Hridayam again on a whim and it really is such a charming movie. It gets essence of growing up in college right. Love the movie and the soundtrack.
I have so much leftovers from christmas that I think I will go another 2 days before cooking anything. Those who follow me on Instagram know the feast I had at friends place, and I also know the reason they made so much was for me to take home food so I dont have to cook.
A good morning spent installing the Govee ceiling light. Initially turned off only that room’s breaker but couldn’t get a good feeling even with voltage tester so ended up taking out main breaker to just do an install. I guess better safe than sorry is the mantra!
Saw the Frame TV at a friends house a few nights ago and I am sold on it. I did not expect it to be this good. Now I have seen Frame TV in big stores before but I never trust the picture quality of a store mode in a TV. Plus seeing it installed close to wall as it usually is makes it look different. Absolutely love the mat look of the TV and the picture quality is good enough (not quite as good as the Sony Bravia I have)!
Ravi Shastri’s commentary is interesting in the sense he was also the coach for India for a few years but he never brings up anything about his tenure or dressing room stuff in commentary. I am sure BCCI had an exit contract with him about this but in general he and Bhogle (as annoying as he is!) are still the two best Indian commentators. I am actually surprised that Gavaskar is not here for his own trophy though.
