Under the hood this is not about agentic shipping or ai at all. This is about user information. In digital ads world the one who controls and has information about actual purchase event is really the king. Meta has a huge user base but they do not have purchase info (hence marketplace). By having muse do your shopping not only is meta able to now get and store purchase info but they also now have visibility into entire user journey (because hey muse will look for best deals and buy from best place). In the long run meta can go tell retailers that we can give you 1/ user info on what they buy and where 2/ if only they could price it competitively as what meta determines and 3/if only they paid meta to prefer their shopping site instead of Amazon. They can and will do the same with advertisers. You know what they say about free services right? You are the fucking product.

Interesting – the iOS photo extend feature works on photos not taken by iPhone. Not sure why I thought otherwise
