@santoshhari Of all the people I have reached out so far…. It’s actually only desis who have been super helpful so far. Even the white guy who actually hired me left me with “don’t be hard on yourself” lol 🤷‍♂️

@santoshhari Nope. White. Actually the company does not have that many desis when compared to whites and Asians. I was the only desi PM in the entire ads org (another guy joined 2 days before I was fired).

How shitty was my last company? Even before I am done with the garden leave they opened the exact 3 roles that they laid off (including mine). One of the roles they opened is an exact blueprint…. of the role I defined for the team and took on. Fucking incredible. And then LinkedIn says I am a top match for the role. Fucking yeah, I wrote that goddamn strategy. It never was about performance. It was about Google VPs getting their own buddies. Plain and simple. I was insanely frustrated in morning but hey, it is what it is.

What an absolutely fuck all year this has been career wise. Can’t wait for this year to end.

I am struggling to decide the next course of action to be honest. On one hand I do want a job asap just for own mental sanity and on the other hand I am like why not use the time to upskill properly so I can get the job I want, but that will require time and commitment and not putting myself into this rat race.

Today is officially my last day at the company after two weeks of garden leave. It’s surreal that only two weeks have passed. Location (larger DMV area) continues to be the biggest challenge right now in terms of job search. If I was in west coast or Seattle would have been far easier (but then also way more people too so I guess it balances out).

I don’t get how changing Siri to British accent suddenly makes it pronounce Lakevale as Laake-Vale. Feels like Siri has watched that Micro-Wa-Ve video too many times.
