For years A has been telling me to invest in a property in India as a safeguard option. I am finally taking it seriously now. No time lost. The best time to do it was 5 years ago. The next best time is now. What’s the worst that could happen? We’ll rent it out. In a place like Bangalore, finding renters is not going to be very hard, and now even India has all sorts of fancy property management services you can use from abroad so you don’t have to depend on your family & friends like a decade ago to maintain your property.

Last night our kid asked us if we were legal immigrants when she was born and if there was a risk to her citizenship because of us. We nonchalantly told her we are all citizens today, but if something happens and we along with her lose US citizenships, we will gladly pack sack and move to India. She was upset we would even suggest this and how the US is *her* country and she is an American. We asked her to buckle up and just said, be glad she at least has a backup option in life that many don’t. Of course now the kid thinks we actively want to be in that group so we can go back lol. What a shameful mess this country has come to be.

This whole episode over last 2 days on micro remind me of how white Americans look at the world. Like if there is natural disaster or terrorist attacks elsewhere in the world, news channels will lambast faces and bodies of dead people (mostly always brown/black) nonstop on your screens for everyone’s entertainment while making nonstop comments; but the moment something like that affects white people, it’s always “we are not showing you the images out of respect and privacy of affected individuals”. That’s exactly how it felt like 😆

Today was exhausting day at work with a lot of fried tempers, half of which could be attributed to yesterday. I will say this though – women are 2x harder than men to manage. I somehow managed to trigger a team mate off today and now she is treating me like sulking sibling. Like just stop it already – not here to parent you, just do your fucking job and let me do mine!

Dreading taking out the dog for a walk and doo-doo in frigid cold right now but needs to be done. The mofo better poop quickly instead of taking his jolly time sniffing around the neighborhood trying to find best locale and moment to do his deed.

Dear white people: Before you get into minutia of Elon Musk’s Nazi salute of whether it really was or not, or the angle or his hand motion was right or wrong, or the hand direction was correct/incorrect, or thumping on chest is part of salute or not, STOP. Just imagine for a moment that it was a black or a brown man doing the exact same action on stage. Then think. If your immediate reaction to a black or a brown man doing that same gesture would’ve been *O fuck, thats a nazi salute*, then you need to stop defending *yourself* first, not Elon. In fact, use this advice for anything you see for next 4 years – I promise you, it will make you a better person!

Went out for a grocery run and stopped by the gas station and I was shocked to see price of eggs have dropped a dollar and gas prices are sub 2$ within 6 hours of inauguration! Wow!! Historic!
