Weekly roundup, Rang De Basanti and more…

All right, I slipped by a day in my weekly round up. Who cares? I don’t – you shouldn’t either. Quite a lot of things happened in the world this week, but not a lot of them around me, so I don’t care. However I will do a quick update for you my gentle readers, who up till now have been oblivious of the important developments this week.

Lets see – some more people got killed in Iraq, and those who weren’t got kidnapped. Bird Flu is steadily progressing, and Queen Victoria (or Elizabeth?) of England has offered herself as a guinea pig for Bird Flu vaccine trials. The weathermen promised yesterday that this week would be really cold and we could have snow on Monday. Today is Monday, and instead of snow we had fog, and instead of cold, it feels spring. Don’t worry weathermen; we know we need to take weather forecasts with a pinch of rain.

Last Monday was my friend’s birthday, and I wished him. So cute na? Hmmph! Move on.

I rant three miles last Tuesday. On Wednesday I wanted to do an encore, but my legs wouldn’t agree, and I pushed the plan to Thursday. On Thursday, my cunning body gave up on me and I slept of at 8.00 pm in the night… which resulted in me waking up at 6.00 am on Friday, and by 7.00 am like good worker, I was in office. In between however, in my mundane existence, I also caught the latest episode of LOST, which had trash written all over it; I also saw second episode of Crumbs and got immediately bored of it – not the series I would watch.

I also discovered an awesome music service called Pandora. Pandora adapts to your musical tastes and plays music according to your liking only. Needless to say, I have been absolutely hooked on to Pandora. I am a huge fan of Indie music, and one such wandering for new band made me listen to a group called Goldspot. Does that name ring a bell – “The zing thing… Goldspot!” – Yes, the name of the band is indeed inspired by Goldspot – the lead singer is an ABCD, Siddhartha by name, and has a pretty good voice. “Its getting old”, “Friday” and “Time Bomb” are some of the awesome tracks on their website, and they have been put up as free previews – do check them out.

On Friday, I and Chetan saw Rang De Basanti, and we both hated it. I wrote a up a review on the movie on descritics, but got more comments and bashing on my blog. It truly is a bad movie – period. After the movie, we went to a great place to have food, and by the time I was home – it was 5.00 am in the morning on Saturday. Yes, I didn’t wink for 23 hours straight.

Saturday was a fun day – we had a great foosball party at the friends place. Another night out lasting till 4.00 A.M in the morning. I also cut a cake. The cake was good – thank you for asking.

Sunday was a dead day – nothing exciting happened in this world. I didn’t even switch on the TV – it was that boring. Wrote a saccharine post on birthday and posted it. Got lots of calls from friends, family and aliens wishing me Birthday wishes – the world breathes for my happiness. I ended the day by watching Grey’s Anatomy – I must say that this series is good and has some of the best indie music. I know I have said this many times, so hear it once more 🙂

Monday morning, the tornado spins again, and I am back to work. A week begins again. And I have to finish Shruthi’s tag too.

Till next week, take care, so long and thank you for all the fish.
