Aunt has come visiting her kids in Dallas. On phone she’s like “so, when are you moving to Texas? All cousins in one city will be great!”. “When you decide to move from Bangalore to Bihar, let me know, I will make my plans” I said. Rest of the conversation was smooth and fun.
It’s June 2nd and the heater is STILL on overnight coz it dropped into 40s. What an absolutely horrific stretch of winter we have had this year.
Planted 4 shrubs. Got bitten by 400 mosquitos and ruined my clothes coz it’s a marsh outside with all the rain.
Netflix must feel one helluva confidence thing that they decided to air the stranger things series finale on New Year’s Eve, no less at 8pm, when most folks are planning to do something.
AI is fucking everywhere. Those in big companies are probably not feeling it much right now but walk into a smaller company and it’s every fucking where. Tech industry is in for a harsh awakening in the next decade and only those who adapt to it will survive the technology leap; technology leaps have occurred in past too when we went from PC to mainframes, and mainframes to on-prem and the back to cloud, and the AI leap is going to be similar. You can either adapt to this change or perish like many did. Hopefully this is the last technology leap I have to deal with and adapt before retirement 
Oh look what is this? It’s the sun! It exists. It’s bright. It’s warm and it finally showed its face after a week. Now, can you just stay for a while?
Started watching “Freedom at Midnight” on Sony LIV last night and just into episode 1, Arif Zakaria as Jinnah and Rajesh Chawla as Vallabhbhai Patel steal the show. And yeah, I still think Gandhi’s costliest mistake ever was to elevate Nehru instead of Patel that cost India half a century of going nowhere. Patel really should’ve helmed the free India. Looking forward to next 4 episodes.
This is my 4th time managing a new team and I can now confidently say there is one sub group of people who are just constantly hard to manage. Constantly. At this point in my team I am already dreading working with this group. Whether it was my startup days or here, they are all the same. Please don’t be like them.
The outdoor pool has been open a week but also closed because water is too cold for swim – what a great start to summer swim this year and it shows no sign of warming up enough to heat up the pool. It’s fucking April still!
